Bukalapak is the 4th Indonesian startup to be awarded the unicorn status in Southeast Asia. The online marketplace was founded by Achmad Zaky and Nugroho Herucahyono in early 2010.
Currently Bukalapak is hosting over 3 million sellers with some 50 million registered users. The platform processes some 500,000 transactions per day.
The recent C series round investors are believed to be local even though founders declined to name them. However, Bukalapak is currently in the midst of an intense campaign to onboard more sellers through its city to city initiative to create awareness and pay tribute to existing customers.
Current Company Valuation - US$ 1 billion
